Disney Cars 2 is the sequel of the Pixar animated film Cars released in 2006. This is the first film made by Pixar to ever produce a sequel other than Toy narrative. The film expands the earth of Cars as it introduces characters from other counties as well as different locations close to its fictional earth.

The narrative mainly focuses on Tow Mater, the rusting tow truck that went on to develop into Lightning McQueen's best close friend in the first film, and his antics as he is accidentally thrust into the earth of espionage and intrigue. The film begins with the intro of new cars 2 characters Finn McMissile, a British secret agent as he unaddresses a plot of unidentified proportions. He follows the lead he gets to the "earth Grand Prix". The race was made by Miles Axlerod, a former oil tycoon, to introduce to the earth the biofuel he says will change the earth: Allinol. The race members are from different forms of racing like Rally, F1, and the Piston cup and they will be racing in 3 different race tracks divided into different areas of dirt and road to equalize the chances of the competitors.

In the promotional event before the first race in Tokyo, MCMissile and colleague Holly Shiftwell was suppose to meet with an american informant Torque Redline. However, Torque is cornered in the rest room by Proffers Zundapp's men and as a last vacation resort passes the facts to an unsuspecting Mater. McMissile and Shiftwell error Mater as the agent and there begins Mater's adventure close to the earth trying to stop the plot to sabotage the earth Grand Prix, save Lightning McQueen from becoming killed, and stop the bad guys from destroying the earth's confidence in alternative fuel, all the while discovering who he is and how he is observed by everyone close to him and accepting who he is in time to save not only his best close friend but the future of alternative fuel.

The film introduces different vehicles which involves, fishing boats, ships, and planes, all of which an integral part in the earth of Cars. It is also introduced how cars work together with their earth through the exploits of McMissile and the use of his high-tech spy devices. The viewers are also introduced to new surroundings like the magnificent city of Tokyo, the seaside race track in Italy, and the majestic city of London.
